Eco Park

“Eco Park” located in Delhi: an initiative by NTPC, will be the biggest man made bio diversity park in India. This is a much needed space for the city of Delhi serving both as a public space as well as providing a massive carbon sink for the city of Delhi, thereby acting as the “Breathing Lungs of Delhi NCR”.

Located over 885 Acres, Eco park hosts a number of ecological zones, designed to invigorate the local flora and fauna. The current site is an abandoned ash dyke area of closed Badarpur Thermal Power Plant. The design brief was to convert this ash covered site to a thriving bio diversity park with extensive program including; plantation, forests, wetlands, lakes, green houses, conservatories showcasing the rich tropical, Mediterranean and dry ecosystem, butterfly park, wild gardens, arborators, bamboo forest, flower/ herbal gardens, lotus pond, fish pond, including wetlands to rejuvenate the ecology and attract the fauna and the birds. Thematic gardens- sensory garden, Garden of lights, tree museum, sculpture garden, to name a few.

Currently under construction, this bio diversity park with have thousands of trees and various species of shrubs, groundcovers, grasses and aquatic plants.
