Elie Saab Branded Residences | Luxury Couture Living, Designed by Studio Symbiosis

Studio Symbiosis is the Principal Architect behind India’s first Elie Saab branded residences — M3M × Elie Saab in Gurugram and Smart World × Elie Saab in Noida. These ultra-luxury residential projects mark the debut of the globally celebrated haute couture maison in the Indian real estate market, translating Elie Saab’s legacy of refined craftsmanship and timeless elegance into architecture. Designed by Amit Gupta and Britta Knobel Gupta, the projects establish a new benchmark for branded residence architecture in Delhi NCR, where couture-level precision meets context-driven spatial design across two distinct yet complementary locations.

A Couture Vision Translated into Architecture

Elie Saab‘s entry into India is not merely a brand association — it represents a deeply integrated design collaboration. Studio Symbiosis, as the architecture firm responsible for both developments, has interpreted the atelier’s design language through spatial composition, proportion, and material expression. The design approach draws on Elie Saab’s hallmarks — flowing silhouettes, intricate detailing, and understated luxury — and reimagines them as architectural gestures: fluid facades, carefully composed massing, and interiors that resonate with the maison’s philosophy of quiet opulence.

What makes the Elie Saab residences architecturally distinct?

What sets these branded residences apart is the depth of integration between couture philosophy and building design. Unlike typical branded residential projects that apply a brand identity primarily to interiors and furnishings, these developments embed the Elie Saab design ethos into every layer — from master planning and tower proportions to facade articulation and the calibration of natural light within living spaces. The architecture is not a backdrop for the brand; it is an expression of it.

M3M × Elie Saab, Gurugram — Vertical Elegance at Billionaire’s Block

The M3M × Elie Saab development is located within M3M’s 250-acre SCDA (Smart City Delhi Airport) township on the Dwarka Expressway, Sector 111, Gurugram. Rising within the Billionaire’s Block — a 170-acre enclave exclusively reserved for globally branded residences — the project offers 300 four-bedroom luxury apartments ranging from 4,200 to 4,650 square feet.

Studio Symbiosis crafted the master plan to express vertical elegance: slender tower proportions that maximise panoramic views, generous floor-to-ceiling heights, and wrap-around balconies that extend the interior living experience outward. The architectural massing prioritises privacy, ensuring each residence feels like a private realm within a larger luxury ecosystem.

The design emphasises a grand arrival experience — conceived as an intimate, welcoming moment carved from authentic Italian marble — and private elevator lobbies that separate public circulation from the residents’ personal spaces. The overall effect is one of composed restraint, where every architectural element serves the experience of elevated, unhurried living.

Smart World × Elie Saab, Noida | A Dynamic Urban Podium with Residential Exclusivity

The Smart World × Elie Saab project occupies a 6-acre site in Sector 98, Noida, along the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway. Unlike the vertically focused Gurugram project, the Noida development is conceived as a layered urban composition — a mixed-use design where active public life at the base gives way to private residential exclusivity above.

Studio Symbiosis designed a multi-level podium integrating curated retail, dining, and food and beverage zones across the Ground, First, and Second floors. This commercial interface lines the site’s front, creating a vibrant street-level experience. Above this active base, the residential towers are elevated to ensure privacy and open onto unobstructed views — expansive golf course landscapes at the rear and expressway vistas reaching toward the Yamuna River at the front.

The project includes 200 three- and four-bedroom residences (2,850 to 3,810 square feet) alongside 480 one- and two-bedroom apartments, offering a range of luxury configurations. The architectural strategy balances urban density with carefully orchestrated open spaces, landscaped terraces, and visual connections to the surrounding geography.

Architectural Expression — A Facade Inspired by Haute Couture

Across both projects, the facade design is one of the most distinctive architectural elements. Studio Symbiosis developed a facade language that draws directly from Elie Saab’s couture aesthetic — fluid, free-flowing forms that evoke the movement of draped fabric and the precision of hand-finished embroidery.

The facade composition uses nuanced gradients and layered materiality to create a sense of continuous motion across the building surface. Rather than relying on repetitive grid patterns typical of residential towers, the design introduces rhythmic variation — subtle shifts in cladding depth, transparency, and texture — that give each elevation its own identity while maintaining a coherent whole. The result is a building envelope that reads as a composed garment: tailored, intentional, and unmistakably connected to the couture tradition it references.

Interiors and Common Areas — Bespoke Material Palettes and Couture-Inspired Detailing

The interiors of both the residences and common areas are designed to extend Elie Saab’s aesthetic into the daily living experience. Studio Symbiosis developed bespoke material palettes for each project, drawing refined references from the maison’s design language — warm metallics, textured stone, and fabrics that echo the tactile richness of haute couture collections.

Lighting design plays a central role, with couture-inspired fixtures and carefully layered ambient lighting that creates depth and warmth in shared spaces. The clubhouse and amenity areas are positioned at the heart of both developments, serving as architectural anchors that connect residents to landscaped outdoor areas while preserving the privacy of the residential floors above.

Common area interiors feature bespoke furniture and decor from the Elie Saab Maison collection — pieces designed through a creative collaboration between Elie Saab and Carlo Colombo, crafted in Italy with a focus on timeless proportions and refined materiality. Every detail, from lobby finishes to corridor detailing, reflects a meticulous commitment to the brand’s ethos of understated luxury.

Design Philosophy — Where Couture Meets Context-Driven Architecture

Studio Symbiosis, the international architecture and design studio led by Amit Gupta and Britta Knobel Gupta, serves as Principal Architect for both the M3M × Elie Saab development in Gurugram and the Smart World × Elie Saab project in Noida. The studio’s scope covers architecture and interior design of common areas for both projects, encompassing master planning, building design, facade development, and the interior design direction for all shared residential spaces.

The collaboration reflects a careful dialogue between two distinct design sensibilities. Elie Saab’s approach — rooted in subtle luxury, precision, and timeless elegance — finds a natural counterpart in Studio Symbiosis’ philosophy of performance-driven, context-responsive architecture. For the Gurugram project, context meant designing for a 250-acre township ecosystem where exclusivity and privacy are paramount. For Noida, it meant responding to an urban site with mixed-use potential, surrounding infrastructure, and dual-aspect views that the architecture needed to frame and celebrate.

In both cases, Studio Symbiosis calibrated the design to honour the brand’s identity while ensuring each building belongs to its specific place and orientation. This balance — between global design language and local architectural intelligence — is what distinguishes the project from branded residences that treat architecture as secondary to interior decoration. Here, the couture inspiration is structural, not superficial. The residences embody couture-level precision and poise, delivering an exclusive, quietly luxurious environment.
