Amit Gupta is the Founding Partner of Studio Symbiosis, an architectural practice based out of Stuttgart and New Delhi. Born in Delhi, he moved to London in 2004 to pursue his Masters in Architecture and Urbanism from Architectural Association and upon graduation he joined Zaha Hadid Architects from 2006 till 2010. Notably Amit has won the prestigious 40 under 40 by Perceive Global Hong Kong. 2 years in a row he was awarded Hotel Architect of the year by IDE and was also was featured by CNN style. He was recently featured in Forbes India: the bold club – Top 30 Architects India.
Amit started his own practice in 2010 by winning the prestigious Athletic Ripples sports complex Competition. Studio Symbiosis has since been involved in projects of various scales and sectors, encompassing spheres of Urbanism, Commercial, Residential and Master planning projects. His design ethos a strong focus on computational design fused with sustainable design solutions to achieve a rich spatial landscape creating a performance driven space.
He has won a number of International awards including, German Design Award, Iconic Award, International Property awards, A Design award, most innovative hotel architect of the year, World Architecture Community.
He gave a TEDx talk at Bremen Germany 2015 on the topic of “Performative Aesthetics”. He also spoke at Smart Geometry Hong Kong, A.A. Visiting School Bangalore and Delhi. CNN style covered the work done by him at Studio Symbiosis in a feature, which was titled “These rising architectural stars could change India’s skylines forever”.
Some of his key projects include; Bangalore Train Station, Gwalior Train Station, 890 Acre Eco Park Delhi (Biggest man made bio diversity park in India), Hilton Kathmandu, 1250 Acre Trans Ganga Masterplan, 1125 Allahabad Masterplan, 1500 Acres Ranchi Masterplan, 10 Acre Hyderabad group housing, to name a few.
